Social Science Programs

The social sciences comprise academic disciplines concerned with the study of the social life of human groups and individuals including anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology. Such studies provide a broad based education suitable for further studies, but do not in general provide skills and knowledge for immediate employment. Increasingly, social science faculties in colleges are including amongst their offerings areas of study aimed more at employment, such as communication studies, criminology, hospitality, journalism, leisure, public administration, social welfare, social work, tourism and sport.
