"How I Discovered Michael Ball" by some of Michael's fans
I listened to a lot of songs And saw a lot of shows I looked through all our CDs Even tried the radio
I'm not sure what I was looking for Something others seemed to lack A singer that could really sing An actor who could act
And then one starry night Much to my surprise The one that I was looking for Was there before my eyes
One place I hadn't thought of A place I rarely go Was right there all along It was a TV Show
The songs were quite familiar I knew them from "Les Miz" And the one that I was looking for That voice was surely his
Marius turned out to be Someone named Michael Ball That voice seemed so familiar And I hurried down the hall
I looked among some videos I had purchased long ago I remembered having heard someone Oh where did that tape go?
And when I finally found it There indeed was the same man It was something I had gotten For a Michael Crawford fan
There among the film clips The first time I'd heard him sing Was a song I still love listening to Called "Love Changes Everything"
Whenever I had mentioned him No one ever seemed to know Just who this actor/singer was Who I'd heard on the video
Now suddenly my quest was over I had found the voice at last The actor/singer who I'd heard In a long ago time past
And that is my long story Of finding Michael Ball He was only a few steps away In a video case in the hall!
