From Charlotte Ann ~ Pittsburgh, PA

Hi Michael Ball Fans...

My impression of the great actor and tenor Michael Ball comes from my love of fine stage musicals! I was not able to see him as he was not in PBS at Pittsburgh!

My boyfriend moved to Delaware and he saw the whole show on PBS and you gals * manning * the phones and Michael in the studio being charming! He called that evening and complemented ME upon knowing how great his music is and with a new appreciation for his kindness and classy ways!

A small tale: When Michelle was three years old  she watched with us as Michael
performed as Marius in Le Miz on TV....She suddenly went to the TV and kissed him
and came back over to sit on her chair...looked at me and declared in her dear little girl  way..." He is a Cutie Pie !!!" She knows all his songs now and enjoys his singing
very much! Smart girl...Cheers to Brilliant Musicians !!!

From Gail in New York

I have a 4 ½ year old daughter who was in nursery school last year, 3 ½ at the time, and the kids in her class were each asked to choose a song for the class to sing.  They all chose the standards -- "The wheels on the bus", "Humpty Dumpty",  "I Love You", etc.  When it was my daughter's turn, her teachers told me that she turned to them with a straight face and said "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables".  They said that obviously the kids didn't get it, but they were ROFL (rolling on the floor laughing).  Of course that was the story de jour at the school. As I said earlier - it's genetic.  Good genes can make or break a child!

Next - I am hoping that someone can help me with this one - I don't think that anyone has mentioned this before.  I was talking to my 9 year-old daughter about what school supplies she needed for the fifth grade.  I asked her if her lunch box from last year was ok - I had gotten her a plain blue one because I thought that she felt she was too old for a character lunch box at her age.  She said she did want a character lunch box this year and that she wasn't too old.  I asked her what she wanted and she said she wanted a Michael Ball lunch box.  Now I know that we have made significant advancements re: Mikey presence in the US; however, I have not seen Mikey lunch boxes among the 'N Sync and Brittany Spears variety.  The MBFC also does not a lunch box option.  LOL!  The ironic thing is that she is totally serious - she is a die-hard MB fan.  Don't get her started on Michael C's
Gethsemane as compared to MB's.  Now what?  I suppose I could do an iron on transfer.  I can't believe this has gone down to the next generation!  Help!

Our 5-year old granddaughter loves our magnet collection, and some of her favorites have always been two sets of photo magnets - one group of six photos of Robert Cuccioli, and a set of 7 photos of Michael Ball.  Over a year ago, she asked who they were, and of course we told her they were Robert and Michael.  For a long time, whenever she came to visit, she headed straight to the fridge, pointed to each of the 13 photos and recited her little piece:

"ROBERT  ROBERT  ROBERT   ROBERT   ROBERT   ROBERT

MICHAEL  MICHAEL  MICHAEL  MICHAEL  MICHAEL  MICHAEL  MICHAEL"

She still loves to do it and is so proud that she "knows" both Robert and Michael.

Sorry gang, but Michael's photos are below Robert's on the fridge, so that's the only reason she says it in that order.  Even when I have mixed them up, to tease her a bit, she knows which is which and who is who.

Both granddaughters know that Michael will be on TV on Sept 9th "with grandma and grandpa" and will be watching.

Note: The Robert Cuccioli photo magnets were purchased in 1998 from the Robert Cuccioli Fan Club.  The Michael Ball set was made exclusively for Ballfest 99 using photos owned by Linda Pollock and with her permission for me to use them.
