Murphy and Windy Help Rehab Rescued Golden. Ginger is a petite, young Golden picked up as a stray by the pound in York Co. South Carolina. She suffered from severe malnutrition after being in the wild for perhaps several months and having had a recent litter. With the assistance of Operation Halo, we were able to get her and two pups out of the pound. After several weeks she made remarkable improvement and enjoyed her buddies, Murphy and Windy. She made friends with all the neighborhood kids, too! We provided a foster home for her until she was placed in a permanent home, through Foothills Golden Retriever Rescue Club.
Windy earns the Hunting Retriever title! Windy passed her 4th leg in Seasoned, the HRC intermediate hunting test program. She did a great job in a difficult test. 14 of 25 dogs passed. She passed all four Seasoned tests she entered. So, she is now one of the the top currently active Hunt Test Flat Coats in North Carolina. Of course, she isn't into that ego thing, she just wants some extra treats!

Murphy loves his Therapy Dog work. Murphy now goes to the Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center twice a month. He visits several patients in their rooms and not only does he bring smiles to their faces, he smiles when he sees his "friends". On the left is Murphy receiving his Certificate of Appreciation at a reception at Lake Park. He recommends this volunteer work to any dog who loves people. Murphy Passes Finished Test. Murphy passed his first Finished level test through the Hunting Retriever Club (UKC) in early December. When he passes three more he will earn the title, Hunting Retriever Champion. This is roughly equivalent to the Master Hunter title in AKC.
