Windy arrived with us on a US Airways flight from Tampa FL four days after Christmas in 1997. We are grateful to Pam Hind of Savvy Retrievers for sending this little girl to us. She has grown up to be an energetic, loyal, and fun companion. She has livened up Murphy's life immeasurably, as she has "trained" him to chase her all over the yard as she stays just out of his reach. Every once in a while she allows him to catch her, so he won't tire of this game!
Windy began her hunt test career at the age of 11 mo. She proceeded to pass 4 straight Junior Hunting tests over the next four months. She took to training with enthusiasm and drive. She could never do enough retrieves. She has been a real pleasure to work with. She is willing to do whatever is asked of her.
She passed her Working Certificate in the spring of 2000. She then began her intermediate hunting tests, competing in UKC events. She has passed 4 straight Seasoned tests and earned the title, Hunting Retriever. In these tests she has to retrieve a water double, land double, water and land blind, a walk up, and a diversion bird. Less than half the dogs have passed in the tests she has entered and passed.
