March 9-17, 2002 (tenative, but need to stay clear of Easter weekend and coordinate with the availability of the Yolita).

Price:  To be announced.  Budget  between $1400-$1800 from Santa Cruz.

In order for the trip to be economical, we'll need at least ten to fill the 12 or so bunks aboard the YOLITA.
The Yolita is seaworthy, with a crew of three (including a good cook), but is not your typical luxury cruise! The itinerary will be to rack up as many island endemics as possible (exceptions being the mangrove finch and maybe 2 others)- there will be an opportunity for snorkeling.

Our 1994 trip itinerary got all but three of the endemics, and went something like this:

3/16/1994 Isla Lobos (off San Cristobal)
3/17/1994 Hood
AM Punta Suarez
 PM Gardner-by-Hood
3/18/1994 Floreana
AM Black Beach to Highlands
PM I. Champeon & I. Gardner
3/19/1994 Santa Cruz
AM Highlands (Medio Luna & trail below Santa Rosa)
PM Darwin Station
3/20/1994 Santiago
AM Black beach, salt mine trail.
PM: Espumillo Beach
3/21/1994 Punta Albermarle, transit to Santiago
3/22/1994 Bartholome, transit to San Cristobal

This is one trip when you may get away with bringing a non-birding spouse.

Travis MacClendon, an experienced neotropical tour leader and long-time Ornifolks member, will be organizing the tour.  You should contact Travis about securing a place on this trip before August, 2001.
