Mick Gene 9-25-2006
Mick Gene here with a preview of Next Phase Wrestling's final show ever. Since we're likely to burn the ring after this show, I wouldn't expect to see any reunion shows or anything like that. So this is it.

Wildkat vs. Omega vs. Big Smith vs. Dare Devil vs. Sparky vs. Wayne Shocker in a 6-Man Pizza Box Ring/Texas Bullrope on a Pole/King of the Hill/Winner Wrestles for the NPW Championship/Scramble Death Match.
We wanted to do something completely outlandish that will be difficult to follow but fun to do. Entered in the match are six characters representing the different styles and time periods of NPW. Most also have had history with each other in some form or fashion during NPW's seven year run. Whoever wins will face X-Celerator for the NPW Championship later that night. The rules aren't simple but I'll attempt them anyway. There are no DQs or countouts and you don't have to tag in and out. When you battle through the pizza box ring and score either a pinfall or submission, you're eligible to use the Texas bullrope, which at first will need to be retrieved from a pole. Then you've got to tie it to an opponent and drag him so you can tag all four turnbuckles. After you've done that, then you're eligible to put the rope back on the pole to win. There are many possibilities for how this match will go. The line up of participants in this one is very subject to change. Zero is very unlikely to show but he will be in this match if he does.

Timmy vs. The Psychotic Drifter
There's really no need to write on this. It will be hilarious. It's also the first time these two will be in the ring together.

"Longhorn" Dan Benson and Gumbo Boy vs. Dare Devil and Scarlet Spider for the NPW All-Vermilion Tag Team Championships.
Benson and Gumbo are considered the most dominant tag team in all of NPW, moreso than Ultimate, the Alpha Males, and the Dirtlegs. Dare Devil figured it would take a former NPW Champion like himself and a very talented performer like the Scarlet Spider to team up for anyone to have a chance at the belts. Keep in mind Dare Devil does hold a pinfall victory over Gumbo Boy. Because of the Spider's sketchy past on making shows, X-Celerator will replace him if he can't make it, giving him a chance to leave NPW as a double champion.

Wayne Shocker vs. Dracon (w/Alpha) for the NPW Unified Hardcore Championship.
This one's been a long time in the making. These two have been scheduled to wrestle each other before since the break up of the Alpha Males, but injuries and prior committments on both sides have prevented that from happening. The team's break up happened at King of Extreme 2005 when their manager Alpha saw more money in Dracon and turned on Wayne. That didn't stop Shocker, however, from rebounding and winning the hardcore tournament and later the Unified Hardcore Championship. The battle of the former Alpha Males will finally be decided Sunday October 15th.

Big Smith vs. Mars for the DCW Championship.
Big Smith is perhaps the most well known of all the performers in NPW and the company's only grand slam winner. Mars's name is synonamous with the DCW Championship, not to mention he's a former NPW Champion himself. Earlier this year Mars showed he didn't trust Smith when he gave the champion a Peacemaker while going to shake Jimmy D.'s hand after a successful title defense. Mars then turned his back on Jimmy D. and it was Big Smith who came to the sweet one's aid. These two have had brutal brawls in the past and it's only fitting they finish their NPW careers at war one last time.

"Sweet" Jimmy D. vs. Wildkat
A brief history lesson here. Wildkat was brought into the Danville wrestling scene by his cousin, Bobkat Jr., who was a member of the 3 Kings faction headed up by Jimmy D. Jimmy took him under his wing in DCW, then Wildkat moved on to NPW. Wildkat had alligned himself with the 3 Kings (Jimmy, Zero, and Mars) when they reformed in NPW. When Wildkat returned after his first stint on military duty, he made it publicly known that Jimmy was the only NPWer to stay in contact with him while he was away. However, after Jimmy D. lost the DCW Championship to Mars after the 3 Kings had long been finished, Wildkat hit the ring and unloaded 5 Elektrokutions on his mentor and friend. Since then Wildkat has defeated Jimmy in a stretcher match and more recently this year in a tag team match. This will be the blow off of these two storied careers.

Off Duty Officer Johnson and Old School McGee vs. Sour Dawg and T-Money (w/Dimebag Davey)
Even though this will be considered a comedy portion of the show, this classic battle of cops and robbers actually has some history to it. Johnson and Dawg naturally became enemies when they first wrestled in an exhibition match, and afterward the off duty officer challenged the Denvale West native to a Police Match. Sour Dawg prevailed in the Police Match though with help from Dimebag Davey. Dawg and T-Money have teamed before as members of the now defunct Colt League. All three of them came together since they all share the same feeling that "The Man be hatin.'" McGee and Johnson came together when Johnson answered yet another noise complaint call from the old geezer. The officer recognized McGee (although Old School didn't remember who Off Duty was) and now they've agreed to team up to rid NPW of young punks who play their music too loud once and for all.

Video Game Rules Battle Royal
"Oh poo, this is the last NPW show and I really wanted to see Whitey McLiverDamage one last time and he's not on the card." For those of you who thought that, and I know we all did, here you go. There will be four men in the ring at a time and when someone gets eliminated, another will replace him until we're out of NPWers who didn't make the line up. This will no doubt be a joyous occasion for all you Hammerfist, Dr. Professenstein, and Pit Demon fans out there.
The last NPW show is Sunday October 15th at the Brummett Field and Cow Pasture. Bell time is 5pm with the doors opening at 4pm. For now, the show will be titled Shitfest 2006.
