4/09/2004 Mick Gene
A lot of NPW fans left the new Brumett Cow Pasture with a bad taste in their mouths April 4th.  No-shows and calling the show due to darkness are two things we haven't had to deal with or were able to work around easily.  I hope when people look back at Unnatural Disaster 2004, they'll remember having to leave the show early.  They'll remember being cold.  They'll remember a jumbled card with two filler matches during a time when we don't need filler matches.  But most of all, I hope they remember there was some good action on this show.  And for me, the Firehouse Deathmatch tops the list.

The idea going into the Firehouse Deathmatch had "F.U.N." written all over it.  No way could this match be boring, and it wasn't.  You don't really need the lumberjack, excuse me, firefighter stipulation to make a Zero/Sparky match watchable, but it was needed to save a show surrounded by doubts.

A lot of people didn't like the rules surrounding the triple threat match.  They say it didn't make sense to have a #1 contender's match involving the champion.  I understand where they're coming from, but I still stand by the decision.  In the olden days, champions lost non-title matches all the time, leading to bigger matches with higher stakes.  This gives us Dare Devil vs. Big Smith for the championship at Wrestling Revolution.  We remember the great match they had just a few months ago.  Now we'll get it again with a greater prize on the line.

It's great to see X-Celerator back.  I'm relieved he didn't align himself with
Alpha and the Omega Men, but it appears as if Wayne Shocker has.  Sources have notified me X-Celerator still plans or rejoining Ivan Ruski's perestroika.

Here's a quick rundown of those who weren't able to make the 4/4 part of
Unnatural Disaster.

1.  Scarlet Spider wasn't there, no explanation.
2.  Mars was backstage, just with no opponent, but was rumored to be Zero's selection for the street fight tag match main event.
3.  Arnie Ambiguous and Wildkat were backstage, but didn't have their match due to the darkness.
4.  Jade Shocker couldn't show due to a heavenly prior commitment.
5.  Ivan Ruski arrived late, therefore missing X-Celerator's match.

The Tilton Tangler informed us that his tag partner he's bringing back to NPW has won a championship down in Florida and is obligated to stay with his current promotion.  No word as to what Tangler's involvement will be in NPW.

"Longhorn" Dan Benson vs. Zero in a tag team street fight was supposed to happen Tuesday 4/6.  This reminds me of Tuesday in Texas or Beware of Dog II.  I wasn't able to make the event, so if someone who was able to see what went down would let our webmaster know, that'd be greatly appreciated.

All we know for sure for Wrestling Revolution is Big Smith vs. Dare Devil for the NPW Championship.  We don't have a date yet, but if enough people are able to show for the meeting Saturday 4/10, then we could very well do it then.

Reporting for NPW, I'm Mick Gene.
