This one may be a shorty depending on the time, as I've got some other business to tend. We've had two shows since my last column, so I'll be shoveling as much information out of head and onto this website as I can about them. Plus, I got a letter from Wildkat, who if you didn't know already, is down in Georgia doing some army training.

Props certainly need to be thrown in the direction of Commissioner Schmemtner, as he lived up to his word and did two shows in June. Wrestling Revolution went well, and I believe went as planned, whereas The Super D-Cup was an emergency rethinking, "show must go on" situation, but by no means a catastrophe.

Congratulations are in order for El Ninja, who won the Super D-Cup over Tilton Tangler, Gumbo Boy and Dare Devil. The tournament ended up in the round robin dilemma: Who really was the best wrestler that night? If you look at the results, the 3 leaders all have something on the other. Dare Devil beat the Tangler, but Tilton beat El Ninja who won the whole thing. You have to wonder how the points would've turned out had the former Dirtleg not sprained his ankle. I had the chance to interview him after his match, thus me missing the 20 minute classic from El Ninja and Dare Devil. He'll be in a brace for 10 days, then good as new.

WR 2003 saw the return of Crisis, who turned on Jimmy D. and showed Next Phase Wrestling what he's really all about: Honor. The man's just here to give us all a good fight and gain respect while doing it. He knows he doesn't need Sweet Jimmy to get respect from his peers, so now he's on his own path. Logically, you'd think he'd team up with Zero, who also went the way of the straight and narrow, but Zero's touring with the Cow Country Invasion for the summer. Where will Crisis go from here? Possibly a journey to rid NPW of Danville Championship Wrestling once and for all?

How about that Scarlet Spider? I think Sweet Jimmy D. used every leg hold he knows on the guy, and McGlasson was still standing after the match. The handshake and show of respect leaves me puzzled though. Who's changing whose attitude?

I may get some negative feedback for this, but I think Dare Devil/El Ninja could mirror or even overshadow the El Ninja/Yashi Torymoto series. WR 2003 was just the beginning, but I heard their rematch at Super D-Cup was outstanding.

WR 2003 was also a good night for the new tag team The Toxies, who both got victories in singles action. When I saw the triple threat match on paper, I was sure Wayne Shocker would score the duke. Billy Toxie's win over Ivan Ruski may have been a DQ, but he had kicked out of the Red Scare and was drawing a sure path to victory until Jon Tomson paid an unexpected visit. Tomson is a high school wrestler from Bismarck in the heart of Illinois...why is he teaming with a Commie?

Dan Benson secured his spot as the man to beat when the Tag Team twister rolls around. Old School McGee may have scored a pin on the wild Texan at WR 2003, but what took place following the pin raises question if the tag team champions can even compete for their own titles when the annual tag tournament is here.

Wildkat sounded like he's doing well down in Georgia, but can't wait to get home. He said he's packing on some beefitude and will be throwing around NPW wrestlers like sacks of potatoes upon his return in September.

I am pleased to see a new addition to the commentating team: Hershal Savage. I still think Savage should go with an alias because the Hershal Savage I knew before is absolutely pathetic and brings up bad connotation. You've got Julie Meadows working as hard as she can, and all he muster up is one tiny little drop. Here's a sarcastic clap and bravo.
