Bloodhounds are not for everyone. They are classified by the AKC as a giant breed and seem to have an endless supply of drool.  They require room to run, a fenced yard to keep them safe and constant care for ears, toenails and skin. We strongly recommend you read Bill Ledford's article, "So you want a bloodhound?" if you are thinking seriously about getting a bloodhound. Bill does a terrific job of explaining the realities of owning (being owned) by a bloodhound.  You can also read about living with a bloodhound at SEBR's Pros & Cons of Life with a Bloodhound.

Rebellion Bloodhounds are not breeding at this time.  However, we are very active with Southeast Bloodhound Rescue.  This non-profit organization picks up unwanted or displaced bloodhounds and helps to place them in new homes with loving, caring families.  The bloodhounds available through rescue range in age from 16 week old puppies to senior hounds, the average age being around 18 months.  Most of the older hounds are already housebroken and have training (obedience, leash training, etc.).  The bloodhounds available through rescue change from week to week.  Adoption fees ($200) are generally much less than the cost of obtaining a puppy.  Rescue is a wonderful, alternative way of obtaining a purebred bloodhound and it offers a home to a bloodhound who has already been displaced once in its life.  If you think you might be interested in applying to adopt a bloodhound in need, go to the Southeast Bloodhound Rescue Web Site to see what hounds are currently available for adoption.

We are members of the American Bloodhound Club and adhere strictly to the Code of Ethics. We announce our litters through the American Bloodhound Club (ABC). The ABC Breeder Contact is currently:  Mrs. Eva Dunkel.  She can be reached by telephone at 630-985-8061 or by email at redunk@aol.com.
