Institute of Industrial Electronics Engineering  was founded by PCSIR in collaboration with SWISS Government in 1989. It was established to produce practical oriented Engineers in the field of Industrial Electronics and Process Control Engineering so as to boost up the industrial growth in Pakistan. All the equipment for establishing the laboratories were provided by Swiss authorities and moreover services of three Swiss experts were also provided to IIEE.

The Curriculum and training program was jointly worked out by project Director, Syed Sadiq Ali Rizvi, and Swiss experts and was presented on January 12,1989 for affiliation with NED University of Engineering and Technology. After due inspection and minor adjustment in courses, the university granted the affiliation to IIEE to conduct BE Degree courses in Industrial Electronics Engineering.

At IIEE, students are taught with a difference. The biggest asset of graduates of IIEE is their intuitive practical approach in the fields of Industrial Electronics and Control Engineering. The institute provides all necessary equipment, trainers and toolkits to each student for whole year in each class.

The administration has successfully maintained environment in premises of the campus. Every year a batch of 40 students is inducted from all over the country through its own Entrance test and selection procedure. So far six batches have passed out from this institute and have earned excellent response from industrial sector.
