On the 31^st Of January 1969 , Avatar meher Baba dropped his physical body at 12.15 Noon at Meherazad to live forever in the hearts of his lovers. This day is celebrated by devotees and lovers of Meher Baba as the Amarthithi ( Hindi word for immortal date) at Meherabad where thousands of lovers from all over the world assemble to offer prayers at the tomb-shrine of Meher Baba .
