FaeriesHave you ever thought that you had seen something moving very quickly just outside of your field of vision? Have you ever smelled a faint scent of flowers or perfume and know that there were none around? Have you ever felt like someone or something was playing in your hair (or pulling it) when you were alone? Chances are, that you were being visited by a faery, or one of the little persons belonging to the faery realm! I am surrounded by faeries all of the time. They love to dance in my hair, and tickle me at times. I will never forget the first time that I was actually privileged enough to be allowed to see my first faery, it was a truly majickal moment! I had seen a lot of peek-a-bootype movement around my place for some time. That evening I had just gone to bed, and began seeing small yellow lights flittering around my bedroom in the dark. To say the least, I was tickled and awestruck at the same time. Then I saw a few of the lights settle on some boxes that were stacked near my bed. I remember asking softly if I could please see then closer. Before I knew it, one of the faeries was close enough that I could have touched it. I did not for I knew that it was a very rare thing to be that close to them in full sight! When we were all growing up, we remember seeing Tinkerbell from Peter Pan as a fluttering ball of yellow pixie light. This was exactly how my faery appeared to me. I asked it's name and he told me that he was Guilrod. He was so tiny but I could see his wings as he hovered just over my husband's shoulder. I would say he wasn't much larger than an eighth of an inch. He truly sparkled in the dark of my bedroom. Then as quickly as he had appeared to me, he vanished. I have seen the twinkles of faeries in my home since that evening, but Guilrod hasn't gotten that close to me (or at least letting me see him) again.
