Became interested in music at the age of  6 while imitating the great sounds of Motown in a housing Project on the southside of Chicago where he and other kids entertained themselves putting on their own shows. After leaving the projects and moving farther south to 95th street at the age of 11, he started his first group with childhood friends Darrel Ivery, Wallace McIntyer and Henry Commons where he was the groups leader, lead vocalist and played bass guitar. The group also sung in church together in the choir and as a quintet with another friend Curtis Parks.
With the big surge of the Rap and Hip Hop generation. He began to focus less on himself and his career as an artist but started to get more involved with the business aspect of the industry and what goes on behind making a successful artist by concentrating on artist management and artist development.
The first act to come under his guidance was "The Black Executioners".  A rap act from the southside of Chicago for Grooveline Production Inc. The act won various talent shows throughout Chicago as well as winning big at "The New Regal" theater where they competed against "Twista" and "24 Karat". They released a mini album in 1990 titled "Double XXposure" which featured another group under his guidance, R & B act "Voices".
Working for an independent Record Label (Urban Groove Records Ltd.) gave him a chance to show his effective business skills as well as his talented creative abilities. Soon he became Director of Marketing for the Label and its divisions Dynamic Rhythm Productions and Cool Commercials Inc. While working close with owner Kevin Mays he quickly learned the Business and the ups and downs of running an independent label. This is when he found his true talent noting most people are either business people or creative people and he was one of the few who were both.
He began to build his own company (Wasted Talent Entertainment) after attending various workshops and music business seminars in the Chicago area. While networking at several of these events he met Kevin Shine, a Columbia College faculty advisor for CUMA (Columbia's Urban Music Association). He soon after joined the organization and made history by becoming the first non-student Executive Board member as the Chairman of the Marketing and Promotions Committee. As a member he worked close with the then President Janielle Taylor. Who introduce him to and later got him involved with another organization NBPC (The National Black Programmers Coalition) where he also became a member.
Today he is Vice President and General Manager of The Basstone Entertainment Camp. Developing new artist with President and C.E.O. Antonio "Tizone" Street who recognized his talents and picked him up to assist him with running his Production Company. Several of Basstone's artist are managed by his Wasted Talent Entertainment company as while.
