The incredible vastness of the Sahara is difficult to fathom.  In these two pictures you can see a PCV walking along the dunes with the rest of the Sahara behind her.  Somewhere out there the fluid border between Algeria and Morocco shifts with the sands.
Before you start laughing, let me tell you a little about the outfit I am wearing.  This ghondorra, with its brilliant indigo blue and safran embroidary, is worn by the Sa'harewian tribesmen.  These nomadic tribes are famous for criss-crossing the Saharan in large caravans.  Using indigo from sub-Saharan countries, these tribes became famous with the film "Lawerence of Arabia" as the Blue Men of the Sahara.
With more and more of the nomads moving to cities, and with the old trade routes being abandoned, the Sa'harewian are less a common site in this region of the Sahara.
