At the southeastern corner of Morocco, the Sahara Desert is continuing its timeless march towards the Atlantic Ocean.  While the Western Sahara knows all about life in the desert, only a small protion of Morocco's population lives on the desert's edge.
Each year PCVs from all over Morocco travel to Mezouga to spend Halloween on the dunes.
These pictures, as well as the ones on the next page, are from my Halloween Adventure in October 1999.
Taking the hour ride to Merzouga from Erfoud, everyone gets on top of the Landrovers for a wild ride.
The edge of the Sahara, Erg Chebi, is Morocco's largest dune.  The dune ahead is still some 15 miles away.  This area was where the movie, "The Mummy" with Brendan Fraiser, was filmed.
