Who's Brutal (according to her friends)?

My hobbies are: hmmm, riding motorcycles (as you can tell) writing stories/poetry, taking funky pictures of my family, watching movies galore, writing on message boards, writing reviews for movies, and visiting with my online buds! Hi all you wacky buds of Brutal’s you know who you are.

I work for DVD Empire under the name Brutal Dreamer writing movie reviews…so if you go over there and come across a Brutal Dreamer review, that’ll be ME! (Link: empire review at the left of the screen) That’s the life isn’t it? Watch movies and write and get paid for it! WHEW!

But it doesn't end there. Brutal Dreamer is much more than the sum of her DVDs. You all know what I'm talking about. Who's Brutal? Let us count the ways:

The best thing that can happen to a writer is to meet Brutal Dreamer. Tremendously encouraging, always a kind word (or a hundred) to say... She's just great! And boy, did you see her on that bike of hers? Now that's allure! (Did it make you blush, Brutal? If not, gimme your address, some pink make-up will follow.)

Peggy is a person I met online recently. A real talkative gal and a lover of Dack Shannon and Thor Alexander stories, you never know what to expect when she writes!

If I ever needed a publicist, she'd be my first choice! She's never met a stranger, and if there's news to share, she's the person to get it done. Terrific writer, terrific person!

Brutal and I got to know each other as fellow writers. I thoroughly enjoy her work. She has a unique voice (some may say she has her own language <g>) and writes with a verve and passion you don't normally see. Brutal has a "rough around the edges" feel that adds, rather than detracts, from her writing style. Believe me, reading a Brutal Dreamer (aka Peggy Jo Shumate) story is never a dull experience. And isn't that what it's all about?

Brutal and I have assisted each other in our writing struggles. She has proven to be invaluable in cutting through the crap and pointing out where I'm going wrong. Thanks for that, Brutal!

Above all, Brutal is a truly great person with a huge heart. I am proud to consider her my friend.

Well, Lady Brutal is my friend . . . we get together and suddenly we become mishevious pixies that run through cyberland and do great damage to message boards with inane comments and scathing humor. >) Tis much fun. She's a great writer, too...you can tell it by the way her mind runs in little circles outside this world. she is very fey, so watch out! *giggle*

I see Brutal's name on several boards on the Net. She is a wild woman by the looks and sounds of her. From a few people I've read some of her things. They are pretty good.

Well, I have known Brutal for a fair spell. I can say that she is a hell fire woman and a sweetheart rolled into a bundle of adorable woman. Love those wicked eyes . how could any one not love those eyes! As it's told (Anibus), "The pit holds many tales and many temptations," the wiles of Brutal are one of them. However, falling into the pit with Brutal on your heels cannot be that bad. For the record, and for dear Lizzy - Cowboy BeBop, Bubblegum Crisis 2040, Dual, and the lot rock - as well as, Crossbreed, 'Smack, Godhead, Staind and Drowning Pool - damnation within the tunes. See-ya Brutal, keep damning those souls and keep those steel blue eyes peeled.

What can I say, for those of you who know the "Brutal" one, much like me you must understand that she is not Brutal at all. No, she is a pussycat...."meeoooow".

Yes she really is and not only that, a very kind, thoughtful person and super talented writer too. I am proud to call her friend! Good Luck Brutal! Now send me that $20 you promised....hehehe

What to say, or how to describe ... trying to describe myself is akin to trying to bail out a sinking boat with a noodle strainer. Lot of effort with not alot to show for it I guess...

Dark and moody, or laid back and serene .. just depends on the way the wind's blowing at the time. Kind of like the things I write about to be honest. I don't normally question the ride ... I just wait for the wind to come and just see where it takes me.

Some times it's cold and fierce, like in 'Michael' .. other times it's a slow breeze threatening something big down the road, like in 'Prodigal' .. the fun comes from not knowing where I'm going to end up landing.

My thanks to Brutal and to all the others who have dropped by my little labor of madness for showing me some of where the wind has taken them.

Peggy is an exuberant, overzealous and excitable person. She certainly wears her heart on her sleeve, yet it doesn't bleed. One will get alot of words from her, but usually it is brutal honesty. I know she adores her family and her writing...and the words of many folks are the bane of her existence.

If I knew a million people like BD I would be rich. Then again, I would probably have to live inside FORT KNOX.

Brutal Dreamer is by far the most enthusuatic person I've ever had the pleasure of sharing a table of contents with. Enthusiastic. Isn't that a nice word? See, promised I wouldn't say anything mean. Nope. Not me!

Brutally honest words. Brutally honest opinions. Brutal fiction and non-fiction. This world belongs to Brutal Dreamer--get used to it. Hard on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Toosie Pop Brutal. Unwrap yours today and savor the flavor. "

I've only known Peggy for a short while but already I feel like we've been stuck in the same elevator together for weeks on end. ;) She's got a terrific energy that's inspiring, and it makes it that much more fun to work with her. With any luck, I'll never understand why she's called "Brutal..." <grin>

You've got to be in great shape to keep up with the Dreamer. I've never met anyone with more enthusiasm or stamina -- a person who can juggle two children, a husband and a Harley and still have time to write and write well. If that wasn't enough, if you shake her cage even gently, she'll talk your ear off. More power to her I say -- she's a blond tornado with a lust for life and living.

I met Brutal when she wrote to me after Mythspinner hooked us up. She's like a twin, I'm the dark one, she's the light one but even though she's light she's just as evil and dark as I am. We both love horror, we both love to read and write fiction, we have a lot more in common than I have room to mention. She's an excellent writer and has had a few stories featured at my House Of Pain e-zine, she's a good friend and great lady not to mention a mom that anyone would want. She's my friend, what more can I say?
