These wooden blocks are modular, logical and multi-functional. Though they appear simple, they provide a profoundly deep exploration of spatial reasoning, analytical thinking and creative design. They were designed by the inventor of kindergarten itself, Friedrich Froebel, in Germany in the 1800's. These blocks were among the educational tools he created. Many famous artists and architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky, and Buckminster Fuller were exposed to Froebel's innovative kindergarten system.
As we move towards the Year 2000 we must remind ourselves in the discipline area of Technology of our wonderful, meaniningful and exciting heritage. This heritage has its roots in the works of Froebel and Pestalozzi
