HISTORY

The New Baptist Church, under the leadership of its pastor, Rev. Robert Moss, established the Bereavement Care Institute on March 15, 1995.

The Bereavement Care Institute is a non-profit and a nondenominational Corporation.


MISSION

The mission of the Bereavement Care Institute is to provide support and help for persons that have lost a loved one, training opportunities for persons, who desire to serve as volunteer chaplains in business, hospices, hospitals, jails/prisons and help to churches that desire to start a bereavement care ministry.

The Bereavement Care Institute had its first graduating class of Volunteer Chaplains on June 15, 1995. Today over fifty (50) chaplains who graduated are now serving in facilities in the South Florida area.

WORK

The Bereavement Care Institute offers Care and support in the following situations:

  • If you're trying to deal with the loss of a loved one.
  • Facing the death of a loved one or your own.
  • Feeling abandoned or ignored by family and or God due to illness.
  • Looking for a caring listener to share your problems with.
  • In need of information about community resources.


    The Institute Provides Support In:
  • Individuals grief.
  • Bereavement support group.
  • Information and referral service


    The Institute Provides Training For:

  • Volunteer Chaplaincy And Certification.
  • Disaster/Emergency Training for chaplains, pastors, ministers, and lay leadership.
  • Outreach Ministry Certificate for church workers and leaders who want to improve their skills in caring for the people in their communities.
  • Pastoral care training for hospitals, jails/prisons, nursing homes, business, and hospices.

    The Institute provides consultation for:

  • Local churches who want to establish their own bereavement care ministry.
  • Hospitals, hospices, and other facilities who want to establish their own volunteer chaplaincy program.
  • Facilities who want and need bereavement training for their staff.
