hogbw.gif (5783 bytes)March Meeting Minutes

The one hundred forty-sixth meeting of the West Penn HOG Chapter was held Sunday, March 4, 2001 at 10:15 A.M. Sign in showed 67 members present. The meeting was called to order by Director Wayne Dawson. A moment of silence was observed.

Guest Speaker Wendy R., Dirstrict Director with MDA, reported on this year's 2nd Annual Western PA HD Dealers Assoc. Ride for A Cure being held on Sunday, June 17th at DelGrosso's Amusement Park in Tipton, PA (same location as last year). Sign up packets should be available at New Castle HD in early April.

The minutes of the 145th meeting were read by Secretary Tom R.

Communications & Bills: Melissa turned in receipts for the Chapter newsletter. Wayne reported on a letter received from hOG regarding Chapter Parade of Flags held at HOG National Rallies. HOG will be giving registered chapters a ribbon to attah to their Chapter Flag in lieu of a Chapter Rally flag as in the past. Wayne also requested that if any member is going to a national rally to let him know so that we can get registered to receive a chapter rally ribbon for you to carry in the parade. Terri reported on PA State Rally being held Aug. 16-18 at Gettysburg and NY State Rally being held July 12-14 at Corning & Painted Post, NY.

Activities: Rick reported that he is hearing that some of the surveys were lost in the newsletter mailing and that he has extra copies for anyone who needs one at the meeting. Surveys must be turned in no later than the April meeting.

Laides of Harley: Chrissy reported an upcoming rally at Snowshoe Mtn., WV the weekend of July 19th. More info will be available at future meetings.

Road Captain: Bill reported that he will be going to the MDA ride from the Hagerstown races and asked if anyone wanted to lead the ride from the HD store to please let him know.

Editor: Melissa reported that a few newsletters have been returned marked "return to sender" and that we are checking addresses with the new memberships and with Bill at the store to try to make sure addresses are correct.

Treasurer: Wayne reported for Bill that he is having a shortage on HOG Dollars and that if anyone who has HOG Dollars could use them or turn them in to Bill at the HD Store to be put into the computer for a credit.

Unfinished Business: Keith advised the date for the next road clean-up is Saturday, April 28th, meet at the HD Store at 10:00 A.M. After the clean-up there will be a ride for lunch. Rick reported that there are still some spots available for Cosmic Bowling on March 24th. Let him know if anyone is interested.

Good of the Chapter: New Member, Mark R. was in attendance. Congratulations to Jerry W. on his March 3rd wedding.

New Business: Next meeting, April 1st is the first day of Daylight Savings Time, don't forget to turn you clocks ahead so you're not an hour late for the meeting. See front page for the many upcoming events. Membership applications are now due, if you still need a form, contact any of the officers. We are still looking for advertisers for our newsletter. If anyone has an interested party, please get in touch with HOG officer. Letters will be going out to current advertisers thankig them for their support and asking for their continued support this year.

Meeting was adjourned at 10:45 A.M.

Respectfully submitted, Tom R.

BS01887_.WMF (3434 bytes)   From the Assistant Director:   "HOG DOLLARS"

HOG DOLLARS are given by Bill in place of a discount to West Penn HOG members who attend meetins and certain chapter events.

The HOG dollars are worth $3.00 each and can be used to at New Castle HD for goods and services.

By attending meetings and events, not only will you get to have fun and meet new people, you will earn HOG dollars.

Currently HOG dollars are in short supply. If you have 15 or more HOG Dollars ($45.00 worth) Bill is asking that you cash them in at the store for a store credit or gift certificate.

Terri

CHAPTER NAME TAGS

Several years ago, we were able to purchase chapter name tags. The tags were personalized with everyone's names or nicknames. We are now looking into purchasing these tags again so that all of the new members or anyone that wants a new one has the option to get one. In the past the tags cost $8.50 each, we are still checking into what the cost will be if we purchase them now. More info will be available at future meetings and in upcoming newsletters.

TO OUR ADVERTISERS:

As the new advertisers begin to sign up for 2001, we would like to express our sincere thanks to those purchasing again this year. Your generosity has been appreciated and hopefully you have gotten many patrons from it!

THANK YOU!
