Conquering
Janet
H. Burgents
As I lay in
disarray,
Wondering how to pass the day.
I thought about my life,
Of its continuing strife,
Living from day to day,
With no way to repay,
My parents, for all the grief
I've caused,
Why could I not be the son
they once enjoyed.
Something deep inside to fill the void,
The need to put addictive
craving aside.
Only in god, I could confide,
To satisfy the hunger deep.
The strength to overcome and defeat,
The devilish addiction to retreat.
