Welcome to our web site! Portfolio and History of Trevally Angling Club. The above angling club was formed in 1982 to promote and foster the development of angling within our community. Our aim and objective was to primarily focus on the education, the importance of marine conservation, its management and restoration. Phenomenal interest from fisherman from all facets of life pooled their resources and formed Trevally Angling Club at La Mercy beach.
The cornerstone for the success of Trevally Angling Club is based on its results, its infrastructure and its code of conduct. These criteria’s is what sparked an interest to compete at another level and in 1994 during the unification period in our country, we grasped the opportunity to advance ourselves and ventured out to compete with the more competitive white clubs. It was during this time that we affiliated to the “KZNCAU” ( Kwazulu Natal Coast Anglers Union), the Provincial organisation that administers and manages the sport of angling and our marine resources within the parameters of Kwazulu Natal waters. Given our background and with very limited resources we are proud to advise that we have been constantly performing and have finished in the top 10 positions regularly since affiliation. Our greatest achievements so far have been the selection of numerous members to represent the KZNCAU Angling team and as a club we have won the North Coast Zone League Competition on 4 occasions. Our current membership comprises of 25 dedicated sportsmen made up of both junior and senior members. We have currently embarked on a program to recruit individuals from previously disadvantage backgrounds and we will be hosting several development programs for the general public and the up and coming anglers. Being a non-profitable club we are reliant on Sponsorship and any funds received would be used to kit these previously disadvantage members. Finally, our mission is to be the Angling Club of choice in Kwazulu Natal. On behalf of Trevally Angling Club, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for affording your valued time in visiting our web site and hope that you have screaming reels and tight lines.
