Dreamin' of You

I wrote this to my GrandMother
from my gtandFather

Day has passed, night is here
Silently I sit, and shed a tear
A love so deep, for one who is gone
In my world, I feel so alone

You were taken, from my side
The will of God, I must abide
My heart is empty, my soul is dead
Thoughts of you, fill my head

At night I dream, you are still here
I can still see your face, so very clear
I reach out, to take your hand
Kiss your lips, together we stand

It's just a dream, I must awaken
Heart of sorrow, since you were taken
My life will never, be the same
Tears they fall, just like the rain

I must learn, a new way of life
Since the day, I lost my wife
I grieve the love, I once knew
From here and beyond, I still love you

Grandpa

August 17, 1909-December 5, 2002

My final gift, I give to you
These few words, to your children of two

Grandpa has moved on, to a far better place
Memories of him, will never be replaced
He will live on, in all our hearts
With only time, keeping us apart
It's hard to lose, someone you love
Please be assured, he's watching from above
We come here today, to say our goodbyes
With heavy hearts, and weeping eyes
If I know Grandpa, and I think I do
This is what, he would say to you
Dry your eyes, don't cry for me
This is the place, that I want to be
I've been tired, for two years now
I've wanted to take, that final bow
My lifelong wife, I missed so much
Just her face, I wanted to touch
The loneliness I felt, when she passed away
Lasted for me, till my final day
This I must say, on this day to my son
Fight your battle, you are still young
I didn't know about your illness, but now I do
And if you believe, I'll help you through
You may get discouraged, but never give up
Believe in the good Lord, drink from his cup

Peacefully and calmly, I slipped away
I love you both, I no longer could stay
My name was called, from God above
In his good grace, embraced with love
With one last breath, I went home
With my beloved. Where I belong.
