Find the damper and pointer, make a thin white mark on the degree line you want your timing set at  (pic 1)
Find the spout connector (by the distributor) and unplug it .. don't lose the plug, and don't forget to plug it back in when you're done !   (pic 2 & 3 )
Mark location of the distributor so you can return it in case you screw this up. Now loosen the tie down bolt just enough where you can turn the distributor.   (pic 4)
Connect your timing light leads as in pic # 5 and 6
Now move all wires, light, hands, hair, shirt tails etc. away from the fan and belts !!! Start the car and point the light at the pointer on the damper (being carful not to get to close to the fan or belts) ... Pull the trigger and very slowly move the distributor until your white mark lines up with the pointer. Tighten the tie down bolt, and plug the spout conn. back in and remove your timing light. Now go have a cold one :)
