Welcome to Smacs Consulting Web Site Design. Smacs Consulting is a small business run from my home by myself, Steve MacCarthy, and with the assistance and support of my wonderful wife, Michelle.
I have been creating web pages since my first attempt using HTML coding exclusively sometime around 1998. Since that first experiment, I have expanded my knowledge and programming abilities both on my own by practice and by taking various courses on Web Page Design at Loyalist College in Belleville ON.
I can offer you a personalized and customized service at the most reasonable price in the area. How we go about creating your online presence is totally up to you. Whether for business or personal pages, traditionally, I would meet with you in person at your convenience to discuss what it is that you are hoping to get out of my service. After hearing your ideas, I will offer suggestions of my own for you to be able to decide what sort of content you are going to have on your site.
What typically happens next is that I will start creating your site on a "test" page where you will be able to view the site online. Only you will have the address to this site and it will not appear in any searches at this time. Once you are able to view the site live on the test page, you will be able to provide me feedback right away with regards to the portions of the site that you are happy with, and what you think you would like changed. There are no hidden charges for making changes. Once you are happy with the site, you can then choose what to do with it.
You can leave it where it is in the test site so that only you and those that you want to view the page can find it.
You can opt to have the page changed to a .com or .ca site that can easily appear in web searches.
You can have the web site delivered to you on a CD for your own use at your discretion.
Should you be from out of the Belleville/Quinte Region, the above mentioned process can take place via telephone or email. The use of the "test site" that I create makes it easy for out-of-town or busy clients to view the progress I have made without interrupting their schedules. A simple look at the test site and then you can email me any changes/additions that you would like to see on the site.
Your web site can contain any type of content that you want to have (no pornographic content) on it. This content can include text, graphics, photographs, email, search pages, animation, guest books and counters. There are no limits. I can also provide photograph scanning and on-line photo albums for events such as weddings.
Making web pages is so easy and so much fun, that I have also developed my personal in-home computer training sessions. Here I can come to your home and instruct you on how to create your own web pages. Should you decide to take the web site that I have created on CD, you can make your own changes at your convenience. I also provide this service for all sorts of computer related topics including initial set up, Emailing, Internet, and various computer programs such as Word, Access, Excel and so on.
