The Hillsborough County Student Nutrition Services department with a 64 million dollar budget, feeds over 188,000 meals each day to students and staff, making it the ninth largest feeding program in the country. Over 1,600 student nutrition employees strive to meet the program's vision to provide high quality, healthy, and affordable meals for all students in an environment that is appealing and courteous.  Student Nutrition Services, which operates as a cost effective, self supporting business within the school district, offers many programs to school sites and the community. The national school lunch and breakfast program, offered in all schools, gives every child the pportunity to apply for a free or reduced price meal. The department also offers the summer food service program that is available to all children in the community, and the after school snack program which is operated in selected school sites. Our Campus Celebrations is a catering service that can provide food for events such as retirement receptions, athletic banquets, and student award programs. And, our department continues to grow as a food service contractor, serving other institutions that need a source for quality meals.
