813.631.4560 Absentee Line
Many of you call the school when your child is absent and we wish to thank you for your efforts. To make this process more convenient for you, there is now a dedicated phone line for the use of calling in absences. The number is 813.631.4560. Please do not call in absences on any other line. If you do not call in to report the absence, we will call you when your child is absent. Calls from you will be most helpful if they are recorded by 9:30 a.m. Please include your child's first and last name, grade level and teacher's name, the reason for the absence, and a phone number where you can be reached that will allow us to contact you during the school day.
After the morning attendance is taken each day at school, a Citrus Park volunteer will check the messages against the absentee list. The volunteer will write the message recorded and the office will give the message to the teacher, therefor, parents will not have to write an excuse note. If we do not receive a recorded message from a parent, a volunteer will call the child's home or parent's work to confirm that the child is safe and with a caregiver. Parents are asked to send their children to school unless they are ill.
Doctor/dentist appointments should be made after school hours. Vacations should be planned for non-school days and during summer break. It is a parent's responsibility to teach their child the importance of good attendance. Our goal is for our students to achieve higher academic levels.
