What forms of outreach does Pagan Relief Participate in?

SOCIAL - Many of the people we talk to both in chat and out of it, have listed themselves as solitary. One of the most common reasons given for this is many people do not know where to find others of their path to learn from. Through networking, they will have a greater source for like minded pagans in their area. Therefore a pagan will be solitary only if they choose to be, not because they have no choice. In addition, social gatherings of pagans, especially public ones, are a great way to show non pagans that we are not really different from them. In addition to helping individuals find groups, we assist group in finding members, resources for projects, support, practically anything they need to increase their effectiveness. When we find two or more groups working towards the same goals in similar ways, we act as go betweens to encourage them to band together and combine their efforts.

HUMANITARIAN - Pagans, no matter which path they follow, all profess an intense caring about other people and about the planet. By ourselves it is hard to make much of a difference. Imagine the energy that can be directed by 100,000 pagans working together toward the same goals. That much energy should make great changes and yet all too often that energy is wasted. For whatever reason, a great many of the charitable programs are either Christian or non sectarian. this is not to say that pagans do not donate to charities, but in much the same way many of them practice, they donate from the broom closet as well. Since they are often donating to either Christian or secular charities, the Pagan contributions do not get credited to pagans, and often are not available to pagans in need. Many of the pagan groups that have tried to break into this area, have been unsuccessful, not because of persecution, but because of incompetence and ignorance. There are a lot of laws governing what a charity can and cannot do, and not all who wish to help are able to wade through the seas of red tape. To them we offer our experiences in cutting through bureaucracy.

SUPPORT - How many times have you found yourself faced with one of Life's little problems and needed someone to turn to that would understand you? How many times have you turned for help only to find that most of the helpers were more concerned with "saving" you than helping you? We at Worldwide Pagan Network hope to be able to assist you in finding help in times of need. When possible, help and support that comes not from a stranger, but from someone in your area that you may already know, or at least will hopefully grow close to and become friends with. Our support efforts utilize a three stage approach.

POLITICAL - With the growing political interest in pushing Christianity upon everyone, it would be a good idea to have a Pagan group that is well informed about upcoming laws in your area. In the United States, knowing about these laws-to-be can make all the difference between whether they pass or not. Too many times we hear someone say that they are not going to vote because their vote doesn't count. Maybe an individual vote does not make much of a difference, but political lobbies can make all the difference in which laws get passed. Sadly there is as much misinformation about the political process as there is about paganism itself. Remember, we can unify for political standing without having to unify our religious standing.

EDUCATION - Those who are more knowledgeable about a path will find plenty of willing listeners to share their knowledge with. Those who are seekers will find a wealth of knowledge. Those who are not sure what they are may find some of the answers within our pages. Our site can be a warehouse of knowledge but it takes the energy of each and every member to make it happen.

In addition we have a new program we are testing. Check out our Artist's In Training Program today!
