It took a while, but the 2012 season finally came to an end last night at Ebersol Field with Parsons Brinckerhoff defeating Motor Pool 21-16 to earn their first MSESL championship. Game three was originally played on September 20th at the Common but was suspended after three innings because of darkness with PB holding a 9-4 lead. PB wasted little time taking complete control of this one after they pounced on Motor Pool for 8 runs in the top of the 4th inning to take a 17-4 lead. That hole would be just a bit too deep for Motor Pool to climb out of although they did give themselves a shot at another improbable comeback after scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth to close within 21-15 but PB would not let this one slip away as they defeated MP 21-16 for their first ever MSESL title.

Parsons, looking to close out Motor Pool for their first ever league title gets off to a big start in game two after answering Motor Pool's two spot in the top of the first with a big 6-run bottom of the inning. PB scored three more in the bottom of the second for a 9-4 lead and looked poised to hoist the MSESL trophy for the very first time. But Motor Pool, trailing 10-6 in the 4th, would see their bats awake as they rallied for 6 runs to take a 12-10 lead. Al Miller and the Motor Pool defense tightened until the 7th, when PB, trailing 20-11, put a bit of a scare into the Renegades rallying for 6 runs to close within 20-17. That would be as close as PB would get as Motor Pool would hang on for a tense 20-17 win.

Motor Pool explodes for 8 runs in the bottom of the first for a quick 8-0 lead, but PB settles down and begins their comeback with 4 runs in the top of the third inning. After the Renegades scored a single run in the bottom of the third to lead 9-4, PB gets to Motor Pool hurler Al Miller for three runs in both the 4th and 5th innings to take their first lead of the night at 10-9. After both teams posted 4 run innings in the 6th, PB gets some clutch two out hits in the top of the seventh to score 4 times for an 18-13 lead. Motor Pool scored twice in their last at bat but PB goes on to take the series opener 18-15.
