I wasn't sure if I wanted to include this page but it occurred to me that people may not know the correct circumstances around her death.  Even though I believe that we should look more at her life not her death, I think that this page is needed.  If you have any questions about these events, please email me.  I only want the truth to be known and remembered.

If you have an questions about this, please email me.  I would be happy to answer any questions or comments you may have.

Michelle went over to our neighbors house to visit with their son. She was jumping on their trampoline and it triggered an asthma attack. She came home to use her inhaler but the inhaler wasn't working so we decided that she should go to the hospital to get a nebulizer treatment. I gave her father her hospital card and she ran out to the truck following her father. About 5 minutes later her father called me from our cell phone and told me that Michelle had "passed out" and the ambulance had met them on the road. I told him to go see what was going on and let me know. He went and looked and came back and said that they were still working on her and he didn't want to interrupt them. I told him that I would come to where they met the ambulance. Luckily we had friends over so he took me to Brian and Michelle and she stayed with our boys. I called my mom and she went immediately to the ambulance. When I arrived at where they had met, there were 2 ambulances and a police car with all the lights going. It all of a sudden it became serious. They were still working on Michelle, then they got her heart started again and off they went to the hospital. We met them in the hallway when they were wheeling her into the ER. We tried to follow them but they told us to wait down the hall in the waiting room. About 5-10 minutes (could be shorter or longer...but it felt like an eternity) a nurse came down and motioned for us to follow her. We rushed toward the ER but she pointed out a room where two doctors were standing. As soon as I seen them I knew what they were there to tell me. After a few while when we composed ourselves again, the doctor told us that they had started her heart but it stopped again. It was just too tired to keep working. They also said that there was no brain activity. If they could have got her heart to stay working she probably would have brain damage. They don't know how long she was without oxygen. The doctors don't know why some asthma attacks come so quickly and without warning and why this one, which didn't seem to us to be as severe as some in the past would be so lethal. After we talked to the doctors, Laurie and Jen were then contacted.

Don't think of her as gone away--
her journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets--
this earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost--
and she was loved so much.
