Saturday 18th March "2006"
Open Day
This was an Open Day aimed at promoting the hobby of Tropical fish keeping. It was a tremendous success with Individuals, Couples & Family groups, in all around 40 to 50 members of the public turned up. They where welcomed at the door & given a lucky door ticket, They also collected a free lucky bag containing info on as many of the local shops that wanted to be advertised in
Fife, Perth, Dundee & Edinburgh area's. The bags also contained info on various clubs, products, events & goodies.
Table show & Open show info, how to show the perfect fish.
Neo-tropical & Killie Fish, Their life span & transporting of eggs all over the world. Plus Handouts.
Rift Valley setup. Info on all the rift lakes & how to setup the tanks. Plus Handouts.
Filtration Tanks. Showing about twelve different ways to filter your aquarium. Plus handouts.
Community Setup. This has to be the very first tank that everybody starts with.
Corydoras & Barbs Breeding Setups. Showing different ways to use your marbles. Plus Handouts.
Glass Cutting & Tank Building Demonstrations. A must for all budding Aquarists, to see how to repair damaged tanks.
Plants, How to setup a tanks & keep those green things alive & free of infection & snails. Plus Handouts.
Feeding, Showing a massive selection of commonly used foods & some suprises. Plus Handouts.
Raffle, All the prizes came from, Shops, Reps & Companies. All the money raised will go to the Maggies Centre, Kirkcaldy.
Lucky Door Ticket Winner, "Matt Wishart" from Kirkcaldy. Matt wins a years subscription to the Practical Fishkeeping magazine & a family membership for "2006" to Kirkcaldy Aquarist Society.

A special thanks must go to Ultimate Aquatics, Cupar
for their donations & last minute donation of about 60 copies of back issue magazines that were also handed out on the day.
This day was all about advertising shops & products & raising money for the clubs charity "The Maggies Centre" in Kirkcaldy.
In all with donations & money raised on the day it has come to £202.50
