Monday the 31st of March,
KAS members had a very enjoyable meeting night with a guest speaker Terry Scott from Blair Gowrie in Perthshire.
Terry gave us an excellent talk and pc slide show on snakes and reptiles. He brought along a few of his own collection of fascinating snakes and reptiles ranging from Corn snakes to Boa Constrictors, from young to adult.
Terry explained how at times he has had to hand rear some of his snakes, due to them having eating difficulties.
The younger club members were particularly interested in seeing the snakes and reptiles up close; Terry explained how it's good to introduce snakes and reptiles to youngsters as this helps to prevent the fears and phobias that many adults have of these fascinating creatures.
Terry and his assistant on the night, Ian also showed us how to handle the animals properly, taking care to cleanse our hands after handling different species.
KAS committee and members would like to thank Terry for the talk and also Ian Moncur from Fair City Aquarists Perth who assisted Terry on the night.
