Local chess catches information superhighway

The latest in chess happenings from Kin Kora Chess Club is now accessible at the click of a mouse.

The website www.members.tripod.com/kinkorachess/ is now up and running on the world wide web and features the club's latest news and information.

Still in its infancy and subject to further development, the web site possesses profiles of children, a calendar of events and local and Queensland ratings information.

Web developer Michelle Wagner said the site targetted club members and their families and was designed to give these people a better insight into the club and generate further interest in activities.

"Kin Kora Junior Chess Club is very much a family-oriented club and it is fitting that its web site reflects this,'' she said. "We are hoping to encourage member participation in the site and use feedback to ensure its development is in line with what members want."

Michelle said she hoped to include interactive graphics of leading Australian games and tidbits and ideas for juniors.
