once, when she was a little girl, my mother woke up in the middle of the night because she was taken short. in those days, there were no proper lavatories so people had to go out for relieve themselves. but since it was night, and my mother didn't want to go out, she woke up her mother, who told her to just go outside the house. she did as was told and so went out. it was about 2 or 3 am, so she couldn't see very well. but she definitely saw a white shadow lurking outside her neighbors backyard. it was carrying a brown basket on top of its head, and to my mother it looked like her older cousin. she thought of calling her out loud, but then she didn't thinking that it would not be right to call someone in the middle of the night. so she just answered nature's call and returned. now, my mother's neighbor was a middle-aged woman who had been sick a long time but she still was fit enough to live for 1-2years. but later the next day, my mother found out that the woman had mysteriously died the last night(the same night my mother had seen the shadow) and also, people who had discovered the dead body had found a brown basket near her bed,which by no means did not belong to the woman. this may not sound very spooky, but it did to my mother because it happened to her and she was really glad she didn't call the white shadow that fateful night.
