About Brainstorm the Bear

Brainstorm is the project of a group of mother’s from the eCommunities forum, part of the Epilepsy Foundation’s web site. Families hosting this cuddly bear during his visits will take Brainstorm on tours of their communities and chronicle their daily lives with seizures.

Brainstorm will be visiting from coast to coast, and hopes to take his travels outside of the contiguous US by the end of the year. Each family hosting Brainstorm will chronicle their visit in a journal and take pictures of their activities together. The Brainstorm the Bear web site will make available the journal, photos, and information on Brainstorm’s travels available at www.brainstormbear.com.

Brainstorm’s travels are intended to localize and personalize the story of children and adults with Epilepsy, showcasing at each stop a particular person’s story of what one day in their life with seizures is like.

If you, your loved one, or someone you know is interested in having a visit from Brainstorm, please do not hesitate to request a visit from Brainstorm.

To keep the costs of this project down, we ask that each family requesting a visit from Brainstorm be responsible for the shipping costs to the next family, which is less than $10 US funds. If this is impossible for a family because of income restraints, please be sure to include this information with your Request a visit from Brainstorm form. If Brainstorm's next visit is overseas, he will come back to his home base before being shipped to the next family. As well, occasionally Brainstorm will need to come back home for cleaning, restocking of supplies, or just a rest. At this time, the photo album will be replaced, a new journal will be furnished, and Brainstorm will get some much needed rest and relaxation! If ever a receiving family finds something amiss with Brainstorm, please let us know and we will do what we can to make it right.
