Comfort the Mind

Peanut butter and jelly. Offense and defense. Tom and Jerry. What do they all have in common? Well, they're all pretty good alone, but it is only when they are put together that they are optimized. Everyone knows that a team with just defense or just offense isn't going to amount to much, but when the two elements are unified, look out. This concept could never be more true with the mind and body. You cannot feel totally at ease, stress free, clear, liberated, or free from uncertainty unless the two are functioning at high levels. Then and only then, like other complementing pairs, look out!

So if you're already comfortable with your body and the shape you are in, how do you complement that with your mind. This is the easy part. Work it out in a fun way, not like at work. Read, listen to music, take up a new hobby or project that requires some creativity. Make it something that you will look forward to and take a passion in. Unfortunately, TV time may suffer, but for something this good just go for it. In some cases, this may even be harder than going to the gym, which means it will take a lot of dedication and a strong will to make yourself a better person. Work at it and include others to make it interesting and self-rewarding.

So, there it is. I will leave the rest up to you. No special starter workouts here. That is for you to decide. But there is only one factor that must be followed - ya gotta do it. Remember, starting your mental routine is probably the hardest part.
