A Few Words: What you'll find yonder is a series of stories inspired by the question "What's your favorite word?" After I first heard this question I thought about it for...well, for longer than most people would probably think is completley necessary. The point of the question is probably not to come up with your ultimate favorite words ince most people are asked to answer it on the spot without really thinking about it. But since I did have time to think about it, I tried to come up with a word that was undoubtedly my favorite. And I thought I found one. But then I found another that I liked just as much or more depending on the situation. And then I found one that I liked just as much or better than that one. The words just kept multiplying until I finally came to the conclusion that I didn't actually have a favorite word. As Drew Barrymore says in Ever After, "I could no sooner pick a favorite star in the Heavens!"

But the time I spent thinking about this question couldn't come to such a fruitless end. One day when my writing was in the middle of a dry spell, I had the idea to put the words I had come up with thinking about this question to use and began to write a series of unrelated stories based on these words plus some I wanted to play with from old vocab sheets. The stories multiplied and even a few more months later, I still add to the collection every now and then when I'm in a creative rut.

I figured since these stories are piling up it might be worthwhile to post them on the page. As I said, these stories are completely unrelated. And just as a warning, not all of them make sense. But I thought it was worth a shot. It was an interesting experiment and most of what came out of it was worthwhile so I might as well share it with you all!
