WELCOME

March 23, 2002

Greetings everyone! Just thought I'd stop by today with some news. You remember how a few months back in January I told you how I sent in a sample of DWF with an application to a college I was looking into going? Well...I got a letter from the college (SUNY Geneseo) last week and...I didn't get in. Bummer. I suppose it's not that great a loss. Between the time I had applied and the time they answered, I changed my mind about what I want to major in from education (which the school is very well-known for) to journalism (which the school does not have). So even if I did get in, I probably wasn't going to go anyway. Although, I'm not entirely sure what did me in on this one. Probably my SATs. They generally only accept people who got 1200 or higher and I got an 1130 (is it pathetic that I still remember what I got on my SATs a year after I took them?). Close but no cigar. Anyway, I wasn't the only who didn't meet their requirements either. Out of the 900,000 students who applied, they only accepted 900. Picky picky. I guess this frees me up to accept the offer from the college I've been wanting to go to--SUNY Brockport.

In other news for those who are interested, Parker has made a reappearance in my writing. I'm currently writing a long non-Hanson story and recently added an interlude between scenes in which Parker appears in adult form as a journalist wishing to interview one of the main characters for an article he's doing. He doesn't have much of a chance to show his signature wit (if I may be so bold as to call it that) but he's basically the same guy. If any interest is shown in reading Parker's small cameo, I'd be happy to post it.

Guess that's it for another update. Oh...happy belated nineteenth birthday to Taylor Hanson. I don't know that I have a right to be feeling nostalgic at eighteen, but I can't help it thinking back to when he was that fourteen year old in the Mmmbop video...Zac was only eleven and Isaac was sixteen...*sigh* Those were the days. Hey, speaking of which, does anybody have any idea if/when Hanson is coming out with a new album? I've been out of the loop lately so I don't know if there's any news, but if there is, I'd like to hear about it.

Allison
