My name is Mia and I have been
collecting Tinker Bell stuff since I was a child. I grew up in Anaheim,
CA - home of Disneyland - and so I spent a great deal of time at
Disneyland. In fact, I used to watch the fireworks every summer night at
9:30pm from my bedroom window. Ah, those were the days. Since then, the
admission price has DOUBLED... fortunately, I still live close by (just
5 minutes down the freeway in Irvine). Anyway, I have always loved
Tinker Bell, and I wish that I would have held on to all of the Tinker
Bell goodies that I had as a child... sigh... I guess that's the
hindsight that only is acquired with age. :)
I am married to a GREAT guy -
Ryan - who has been my best friend for years and years and years... I
finally talked him into marrying me last summer (July 7, 2001) after
living together for almost 4 years. :) Actually, he was very excited to
get married (most men aren't so I was pleasantly surprised) and had a
lot of fun planning everything and getting all dressed up. You can see
our wedding web page here.
I am also in my MILLIONTH year
of college... sigh... I think I am going to get a lifetime achievement
award for "most tuition paid by an individual." :) After
several years teaching preschool and studying psychology, I moved into
advanced psych courses, which led me to neurology, which is my current
interest. I have taken classes on cognitive rehabilitation and
neuropsychology... I am very interested in the human brain and brain
disorders. I am hoping to make it to medical school in the next couple
of years, but in the interim I have become a certified EMT and am
completing courses in Medical Assisting, and I begin the Registered
Nursing program this year also. My short term goal is to obtain my RN
and work as a nurse, while putting myself through medical school.
As you can see, I have a lot on
my plate right now! :)

Here are some pictures of my family :
People often ask me if I have kids and my standard reply is "no,
I have cats." I honestly think that our cats believe that they ARE
people (although they are superior in intelligence) and that when we do
have kids someday, these two will move out and check in at the Ritz.
They just wouldn't be able to handle it otherwise.
(above) This is Ruckus. As you can see, he works very
hard around the house to earn his keep.
(above) This is Monkey. He too likes to sleep. A lot.
In my bed.
For Christmas, I bought the boys cat beds and everyone
said "oh cats never use those things, what a waste of money."
Well this shows them. The back-story on this picture is that Ruckus is
always very cold. His toes and ears are like ice all the time. So, he
waits for Monkey to lay somewhere for a while - long enough to warm it
up - and then he comes to "cuddle" and slowly stretches and
stretches until Monkey gets up and leaves. This particular day, Monkey
wasn't having any of it and decided to stay put. It was hilarious
because they are both so big, they are squeezing out of the bed on all
sides.
Sweet Ruckus. He has a penchant for all things
mischievous and is insane when it comes to cat snacks. Who'd have
thought that liver & shrimp flavored kibble would make a cat crazy?
I sure didn't. That's how I nearly lost a finger!!
Dear Monkey. He is such a handsome guy. Even featured
as the Purina Pet of the Month once for his pictures on their site
(although truth be told, he likes IAMS food better).
