Kerala Fish Curry


Ingredients:



1. Small sea fish (eg. mackeral/parava/sardine) : 250 grams
2. coconut : 1/2 (grated)
3. Kerala onions : 50 grams/Onion : 1 (medium)(cut into long thin slices)
4. Green chillies : 5
5. Chilli powder : 1 teaspoon
6. Turmeric powder : 1/4 teaspoon
7. Raw mango : 1 small
8. Curry leaves : 2 strands
9. Coconut oil : 1 teaspoon(for garnishing)
10. salt : to taste.


Method of Preparation:

Clean, cut the fish into 2" long pieces and wash. Grind the coconut into a fine paste. Slit the green chillies. Remove the skin of the mango and make 1 cm. long pieces. Mix together the fish pieces,coconut paste, chilli powder,raw mango pieces, onion slices,turmeric powder, salt and 11/2 cups of water in a pan. Cook on medium fire till the fish is cooked. Remove from fire. Garnish with curry leaves and coconut oil and serve.
