Dear Student:

The Anesthesiology and I.C.U department at the Sheba Medical Center, welcomes you to your clinical clerkship. During your stay, you will be introduced to a variety of subjects in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, including practical “hands on” experience.

The program was designed to help you cope with some of the more common emergency situations that you may encounter as a physician. Subjects such as emergency intubation, respiratory insufficiency, hemodynamic instability and shock, are common clinical problems you’ll be taught to approach in a practical manner.

In order for you to get the maximal clinical experience you are required to arrive at the Anesthesiology conference room in the general O.R area (ground floor of the main building) at 7:30 on the first day of the clerkship (3.12.00 and 10.12.00), where you’ll be met by your tutor (Dr. Friedman). For further information or questions please contact the department secretary at 03-5302754.

You may also find a lot of interesting information about anesthesiology in general and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Sheba medical center in particular at our web site www.shebanest.org.

We wish you an interesting and pleasant clerkship,

                                                                                                                        Dr. Z. Friedman

                                                                                                                        Prof. A. Perel
