MACEDONIA
The crossroads of many empires, home to Alexander the Great and Cleopatra, and waged in a war of names with Greece and Bulgaria (the region has traditionally been known as Vardar Macedonia, as opposed to Pirin in Bulgaria, Aegean in Greece, and Prespa in Albania). I was extremely proud to call this place my home for a large portion of 2003, and wish the best to the people of this great land.
