Albania, a country lying along the northwestern edge of the Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by the Adriatic Sea to the west, Greece to the south, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) to the east, the Yugoslav republic of Montenegro lies to the north while Kosova lies to the northeast. Albania's area is 28,748 sq. km (11,100-sq mi.). The capital and largest city is Tirana.
