USCGC Point Heyer (WPB-82369)

The USCGC Point Heyer was an 82 foot general purpose patrol boat. This class of cutter is in the process of being replaced by a new 87' foot cutter class. The Point Heyer was commissioned in 1967, decomissioned in 1998 and sold in 1999. There are still 26 of these boats in commissioned, all are which are expected to be replaced by December of 2001. The Point Heyer had a crew of 10, top speed of 22 knots, and was home ported in Morrow Bay, CA. The cutter is depicted on the patch.
