There are different parts of a web page.

The intent of a Web presentation, is for the presenting organization , and the Web user to reach a mutual understanding through a Web connection.

The three main purposes of a Web presentation are to inform, to entertain , or to enable some exchange (for instance, a sale).

The challenge for those creating Web presentations is to blend these purposes in an effective, affective, and navigationally efficient manner to reach the mutual understanding.

Paragraphs should contain no more than 60 words.   A news letter should be no bigger than a 20k file.

bulletDifferent users view a web presentation with different goals in mind. A web presentation needs to offer different kinds of messages to accommodate different users.
bulletAccording to psychologists, people are able to deal with only five to nine concepts at one time. This capacity is often referred to the 7+-2 rule. (keep it simple)
bulletInformation needs to be broken into units containing a single fact, thought or idea. This breaking down process is know as chunking.
bulletThe idea is to sooth the users information anxiety and turn it into information proficiency.
bulletYou must capture and maintain the user's attention within seven seconds.

Writing for Effect and Affect

bulletEffectiveness is the extent to which the information conveyed is accurate and complete.
bulletAffectiveness of a presentation is its ability to speak to the user on an emotional level
