First Camping trip
Ray Behrens, Mark Twain Lake

Got a tent (12-man, no less), a three-burner camp stove, a
Coleman lantern, air mattress, cots, and sleeping bags...We're off!
Although it rained, our tent leaked, and it was cold
(I spent a good deal of time in the van)
it was a fantastic trip!
We hadn't yet learned to keep our tent
out of the gully (we thought it was a
nice flat spot), so we were a little damp.

The cicadas were out in full force that spring.
Our campsite was #90, right next to the lake access trail.
This was great because we tied our boat
to a tree down on the lake
and just walked up the trail.
