Highway 61
By Bob Dylan

Oh, God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son"
Abe said "Man, you must be puttin' me on!"
God said No, Abe said What?
God said, "You can do what you want to but ..the next time you see me comin' , you'd better run"
Well, Abe said "Where d'you want this killin' done?"
God said out on Highway 61

Georgia Sam he had a runny nose
The Salvation Army wouldn't give him no clothes
He asked Poor Howard ,"Where can I go?"
Howard said "There's only one place I know"
Sam said tell me quick man, I got to run...
Howard just pointed with his gun and said "That way down Highway 61"

Mack the Finger said to Louie the King, "I got 40 red white and blues hoestrings
And a thousand telephones that don't ring
Do you know where I could get rid of these things?
And Louie the King said," Let me think for a minute, Son"
An' he says "Yes I think it could be easily done
Just take everything down to Highway 61"

Now the Broken Gambler, he was very bored
He was tryin' to create a next World War
He found a promoter, who nearly fell off the floor and said,
"I've never indeed heard of this kinda thing before, but Yes I believe it could very easily be done...
Just nail some bleachers out in the sun, and have it on Highway 61

I think that's about all of it, I'm older than I was when Bob Dylan wrote and released this. It's a real snappy mover. Hope this helped you, regards, Tweed. PS I play it in C. Seems easier to sing there.
