Manchester's masters of talcum powder punk, release their debut single this week in Manchester on the local independent Rabid Record label. The "A" side is "Cranked Up Really High," a truly rabid track which glorifys being pumped up on amphetimines. The band who feature - Wayne Barret on vocals, Mike Rossi on guitar, Zip Bates on bass and "The Mad Muffett" (a.k.a. Eric Grantham) on drums. This debut is made with the highest hopes of success as there is already a contact for the Slaughter & The Dogs fan club on the sleeve. For a review go here

Nick Cash due for a name change - (Dont Care collection) 48 Hours, play one more gig tonight before changing their name to 999. They have been through a few names changes before this, including The Dials and The Frantics. They are currently playing a Monday night residency at the Hope & Anchor pub in Islington, London admission is FREE.

Sid ready to sign - (?)
Sid Vicious finally made his signature on the Virgin contract today. His presence in hospital had made the whole signing process low-key.

Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers are in Olympic Studios, Barnes, UK, mixing 'All By Myself' and 'Get Off The Phone', the engineer marks on the tape box as the title: '2 downers before the overdubs'.
