Getting to know the Roadies:
Jisela- This confident 20-year-old is from Tampa, Florida. She has a strong Hispanic background, being half-Panamanian and half-Puerto Rican. This matches her strong confidence and presence. She had an in-your-face attitude and was taught that crying is a weakness. Jisela loves to have sex, but hates serious relationship, possibly because of a fear of commitment. She was the first person to ever be kicked off a season of Road Rules. This was because her strong- willed spirit motivated her to refuse to risk her life in a climbing expedition. Jisela can also be seen on Real World 10: Back to New York having a brief relationship w/ Malik that ends in heartbreak for him when Jisela goes back to her relationship-hating ways. She can also be seen on the RR/RW Battle of the Seasons (with Adam) making friends w/ Veronica.
Adam- A fierce competitor, Adam attends Boston University and has ADD. At 21-years-old, he plans on starting up a resort by the time he's 26-years-old. This season, Adam started up a lot of conflict. When his ADD kicked in or if he forgot to take his medication, he quickly got on the nerves of the people around him. Whether he was honking the horn while Jisela talked on her cell phone or getting irritable while driving, Adam was fun to have around. He had a sexual relationship with Ellen that cast member Steve sums up as "messed up". I feel that he changed for the better a lot this season and his reflection on that can be seen when cries after the last mission.
Sophia- This 23-year-old is such a sweetheart that her vow for the season was to become for selfish and less selfless. Her kind-hearted spirit shines through when she accepts everybody and supports Jisela no matter what the other cast members think. Sophia is a gay African-American from New York whose hardest struggle was to come out to her father. She is also very athletic and extremely open-minded. She was my favorite female cast member this season.
Steve- A 23-year-old from Kansas, Steve is half-Thai and half-Caucasian. He spent some of his childhood in poverty and is the son of a military officer. Steve sets high standards for himself and his athleticism and wit have helped him to achieve those goals. His antics with Blair made the show fun to watch as well as reading their hilarious Travelogues on www.mtv.com. Good looks match his charming personality, making him appeal to the females (particularly Katie who he had a semi-romantic relationship with on the show).
Ellen- I feel that Ellen was misjudged by her other cast mates. Though she gained some negative labels by making a scene with RW 10's Coral in the Casting Special, I think that she was portrayed more positively on RR 10. She is a 22-year-old Korean-American whose beauty plays a big role in her life style. She is a self-proclaimed girly girl who has a passion for make up and Adam. Ellen had many fall-outs with Jisela who said Ellen was trying to show off in a mission, but grew as a person over the season. Even when rocks were thrown at her in Morocco for wearing shorts, she prevails. She shares the big secret of being raped with her cast mates, which shows them that she may have reasons behind her sexually provocative clothing.
Blair- He is my favorite cast member of this season. The youngest of the group at 20, he shows that age doesn't matter when it comes to missions. His determination and newly found good physique help him to excel. Blair is cajun and is from Louisiana. He recently lost a lot of weight, but still holds firm to his belief that beauty is only skin deep. Blair gained a lot of strength from having to support a family at times. His hilarious ways and modesty make him extremely appealing to females (myself included).
Katie- At 21 years old, she is fiesty, yet sweet. She made her grand entrance after Jisela left, vowing not to become just "the new girl" that the others represented. Maybe that's why she refused to complete the intitiation that Adam and the others created for her (which included sleeping on top of the winnebago when she is afraid of the dark). Katie's presence gave Ellen someone to connect with. This former Hooters girl is also a girly girl who loves make up. Katie also shared a semi-romantic relationship with Steve, yet denies it because of her boyfriend at home.
