Hawaii   Bios

Below is a bio of each of the cast members on The Real World of season eight in Hawaii. Read about your favorite ans not-so-favorite cast members.

Matt- He was sort of the guardian of the group. He was the "good boy". He helped Ruthie through her alcohol problem and guided the rest of the group. He was the father figure. He had a relationship with Ruthie's twin sister, Sara. Matt had to decide between Kaia and Sara, but he eventually chose Sara. I liked him a lot. He seemed like a good friend to have. He didn't really open up to the group very much, yet was always getting the other cast members to open up more. He was kind of a closed-in person.

Kaia- I didn't like her very much. She was a very deep person and always looked for meaning in things. Sometimes she could be plain annoying, but other times she was cool. Kaia was very self-involved, perhaps a little arrogant. But, at some times she seemed like a good friend. She is bi-sexual and shared a kiss with Ruthie. Ruthie was drunk and didn't remember. Kaia was hurt. She was leaping around for Matt's attention and was bitter when she didn't receive it. After the season ended, she travelled to Matt's home, uninvited. She refused to leave, until finally she gave up.

Justin- In every season, there's the homosexual. This was him. Like Kaia, he was very spiritual. He attended Harvard Law School and is brilliant. He left the house mid-season because of a mix of family problems and because he didn't like his roommates. He was an instigator, and was always starting fights. He tried to break up Colin and Amaya. I dislike him more than I dislike Kaia. He didn't seem like a very good friend. He seemed a little snooty. But, the season wouldn't be the same without him.

Amaya- I liked her better in this season, than in the Challenge 2000, by far. She was very self-conscious about her weight, and in college was bulimic. During the show (although they didn't show it), she continued her bulimia. She had a relationship with Colin, that ended in a nasty break-up. She slept with Colin's friend when he came for a visit. She was sensitive and a sorority girl in college. Amaya needed strength very badly, which she gained from Ruthie. She was the drama queen of this season.

Colin- He was the frat boy. He was also the heartthrob. I must admit, I think he was hot. He seemed unsure about his relationship with Amaya, for pretty much the whole thing. He became the famous one of the season. He was named one of E!'s hottest stars-to-come. He also recently landed a good role on NBC's M.Y.O.B., in which he plays the stupid employee at the school. Unfortunately, M.Y.O.B. was cancelled before it finished its first season. He made the season very interesting and was good friends with Matt. He was supposed to be on the Challenge 2000, but instead got cast for M.Y.O.B.

Ruthie- She was my favorite cast member. Although she had alcohol and drug problems, she overcame a lot and changed very much throughout the season. Ruthie seemed like a great friend and helped Amaya out a lot. She had a close relationship with her sisters, who often came to visit, and helped back her down from committing suicide. Ruthie left the show to go to an alcohol clinic, but returned, when it was done, before the show ended. She is a lesbian and her girlfriend at the time was named Jess. Ruthie is currently single.

Teck- He was the life of the party. He was the pimp of the cast and never once quiet. He got along well, and went to the clubs almost every night. He slept with a lot of different girls and was very amusing. This season DEFINITELY would not be the same without Teck. He appeared on the Challenge 2000 with Amaya. I liked him a lot. He is funny and has appeared on MTV several times after the Real World. For example, he hosted TRL once, was on Say What? Karaoke on Spring Break, and was also on Sisqo's Shakedown as a judge. Also, he got the chance to host Say What? Karaoke for the whole summer of 2001, in its last season.
